Ms. Michals who is the close relative of the late Blues and Rock & Roll Legend
"Willie Mabon" was featured in several musical plays at the Katherine Dunham Theater which led to her singing for a "Pepsi" commercial, securing the reputation as an artist who delivers. As a result she was requested to sing for a presidential nomination campaign.
Ms. Michals landed a recording deal with Epsilon Records a Japanese sponsored label recording the single "Give" on the Jupiter BMI Project that charted #15 on the Japan Billboard charts. She also sang the soundtrack for the syndicated show titled "HomeTeam".
Ms. Michals has performed for various Festivals in the California area with a highly regarded reputation for her performances at a variety of events and local clubs.
She was one of the City of Los Angeles and JazzZone Jazzabration's choices to perform a tribute show to the legendary
Ms. Barbara Morrison.
Dena Michals is musically adept in various genre's of music. Her publishing company Lyrebird Music63 holds a catalog of 200+ songs in multiple genres which include West Coast Blues & Soul, Jazz, Gospel, R&B, Afrobeats, and Jingles
